No matter your gender, sexual preference, the colour of your skin, your background, or your wealth we are all people; we are all flesh and blood. This is our beautiful world which every culture has contributed to; in both good and bad ways; however, now more than ever let’s stand together as one and embrace our differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I turn on the news each day to hear the media pushing fear, confusion and backward views on the world, the media are in a point of power and are abusing it to create drama and good ratings. The sad part about it; is we believe it and my heart actually breaks to see the way society and people are treating each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s go back in time to the ancient civilization of the Roman\u2019s; they are the engineers of the basis of our modern world. The Roman\u2019s gave us so many amazing building blocks to shape our society that we have today, they passed down their knowledge. Generation after generation people have modified it for the future. For thousands of years; civilizations have fought amongst themselves, for power, for money and land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why have we not learnt from history?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

History; is written, passed down and everyone has access to the books, why are we still repeating the same mistakes that happened 200-800 years ago? Why haven\u2019t we improved our systems to avoid society turning against each other? When did this become ok to make someone else feel bad about themselves to make yourself feel better, when did it become ok to backstab and push someone down to get to the top? Or when did it become ok to judge another human being or tell them they are not good enough? when did it become ok to treat people so different from one another? Let me tell you right now, it\u2019s not ok and the way society turns on each other at the drop of a hat; is not ok. We need to stand together as one and Embrace our differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALL of our ancestors no matter who they are or what they did they ALL contributed to the modern world we live in today, they fought in wars, they passed on traditions and legends of lessons they had learnt in the hope that we in modern society wouldn’t repeat their mistakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History is not all Rainbows and Roses<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I am not saying History is all rainbows and roses, and a lot of it was not ok, but it is history. It is the mistakes our predecessors made wrote down and passed along in the hope we would not follow in their footsteps. Generation’s later we are doing the exact same thing and following in their footsteps setting ourselves up to fail, why? Well for money, power and greed. Take a look in the mirror; we are all flesh and bones! We all come from different cities, towns, suburbs, countries, societies, cultures, traditions which is what makes our world so unique, not to mention religions, beliefs and traditions that are passed on through generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s do you think the problem is?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In my opinion, it is a lack of education; I grew up in Australia where the only history I was taught was that the pyramids were not built by aliens. The education in history was elective; you didn\u2019t have to learn about it if you didn\u2019t want to and guess what at 15 years old; you don\u2019t care about much else other than what you are going to do after school. I had no interest in the stupid books they \u201csuggested\u201d we read, I know now that attitude was wrong and I wish I had paid more attention to world history. Saying that the classroom is not where you learn the most valuable lessons; it is learning the lessons of the world by seeing it or yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See the world for yourself<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Travelling to Europe<\/a> my eyes were opened on the subject; every country in Europe in one way or another has been pulled apart; conquered; divided, demolished and most times given back in little pieces. Every city, small town, province and local community has a story to tell which make up our history books; some of it good and some not so good. The whole continent of Europe is one life-sized history book and I am not sure why we are trying to destroy it; break down statues, burning books and turning on one another. We should not be erasing or sweeping these \u201cbad\u201d parts of history under the rug; we should be teaching future generations about it so that they don\u2019t repeat the same mistakes as us and our predecessors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open your mind and your heart<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Being a traveller opens your eyes and your heart to be more accepting of other cultures and traditions. As a traveller we willingly travel into exotic places to see how the local people live, what they believe in, the different food they eat, to learn about their traditions and cultures because they are fascinating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travelling really opened up my opinion on all religions. I grew up in a\u00a0 small Yorkshire (England) village, so I was very shut off from the world and its many cultures. This was until I went travelling with 40+ strangers, all from different beliefs, cultures and religions. Now I accept anyone and everyone regardless of their background. Travelling made me a better person and opened my eyes, and heart, to the world around me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is different to what we see and do at home; that is the main reason why we do it.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I believe this is the best lessons you will ever learn; is the ability to accept people and things for who and what they are. I have lived in various countries across the world; I have made a point to get to know people where ever I am in the world and now I am so lucky to have friends all over the globe from all walks of life, religions, backgrounds and cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These people are what make my life full, rich and diverse. You are all very special to me; you all have a place in my heart and memories that will live on forever now let’s Stand Together as One and Embrace our differences. I think of you often and am grateful for your friendship.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
