Your Last Winter Camping Adventure Before Spring!

Get ready for your third winter camping adventure before spring sneaks in! (And avoiding all that wet slushy snow buffer season!) We’re heading to Elfin Lake Hut for a memorable overnight snowshoe trek. (Cause lasts year was!) We’ll camp right in front of the hut, with the option to cook and cozy up inside by the hot stove before retreating to our tents for the night. It’s the perfect opportunity to try winter camping in a safe, scenic setting. The sunrise here is absolutely spectacular.

This hike is a beauty, especially in the winter, imo – there’s something magical about Elfin in winter. We’ve been doing this trek for 15 years, both in a hut and camping, and trust us, it never gets old. While it’s a longer, exposed hike (approx 4-5 hours one way), it’s not technically difficult. If you’ve done a few backpacking trips, you’ll be good to go. But if this is your first winter backpack, I’d suggest getting a couple more hikes under your belt first. Pls. And don’t forget that SPF – yes, even in winter! This is an adventure you won’t forget.
