Our Paths May Cross

Hi, I’m Kelley, thank you so much for being here let me tell you a bit about myself. I had no interest whatsoever in the norm or to conform; to the pressure of getting an education a career, marriage, or kids. Oh no I want to see the world; I want to learn my lessons in another way; then be sat in a classroom with a generic test judging how “smart you are” The world has so many lessons to share with people if you are willing to listen. The love of travel started for me at aged 10 we moved to NZ. There was no stopping me I had the taste for it; I had been willingly bitten by the Travel Bug. I had the drive to see more and more of what the world had to offer. Most of my trips in the early days were done with my mum Renee; another fellow traveler.

From 18-21ish I did as many trips as my bank account would allow; Mum and I started our own mobile travel agency; which allowed for more trips. I ticked off the counties closer to home, Bali, Fiji, Thailand; and worked my butt off to win a trip to Dubai.

Where my life really changed

The point in my life that my world really changed was when I decided I wanted to move to Europe; on a 2-year working visa. I ended up working for one of the best Tour Companies in the market. It was then my job to showcase the incredible wonders of each country to 50 odd people aged 18-35. I wanted to pass on my thrill and excitement for the differences and traditions of each country. It was an incredible 3 years of my life that I am so grateful for; I not only got to travel for a job but; I was fortunate enough to have met so many amazing humans; from all walks of life all coming together for one common goal. Each and every one of you taught me or showed me something new and I am eternally grateful to you all. I am lucky enough to say I have friends all over the world.

These years of my life are the reason I learned so much about myself; and who I wanted to be as a person. My goal was to see 50 countries by the time I was 30; that goal was defiantly achieved, to this date I have been to 56 different countries in counting.

Let’s jump over to Neil’s Beginning

Hi, I’m Neil, my Life went down a different path to Kelley’s. I was based in a small country town and worked for a local security company; eventually ending up owning that company. Long hours and On-call 24hrs a day meant not much spare time. Working towards being set up for life, was married, had 2 beautiful young boys and a large house.

I have travelled and got to see a lot of Australia, but the only Overseas country I had travelled to up ‘til then was New Zealand (South Island), and I loved every minute of it.

Sadly, things didn’t work out and I found myself divorced; separated from my boys and in the process of selling my house and business. It was a dark time in my life; but with the overwhelming support from my incredible friends and family, life got better and better.

Then….I met Kel, and her overwhelming love for travel, generous outlook on life and huge heart. Her values and ideas just inspired me, and she showed me life is just not about working for stuff; having all the trimmings but also getting out into our big world and experience more life through travel. The sights, the smells and the tastes…

I did start my travelling portfolio a lot later than Kel; however, in our first year of travelling together, we travelled to 17 countries. An amazing first year of travel, which firmly cemented my growing passion to see the rest of the world……May I say I was falling in love, and not only with travel….

How did Our Paths Cross?

Well we are firm believers in everything happens for a reason and the way we met proves this. Kelley was working in Europe as a Tour Manager my summer season was coming to an end. I basically had to decide what I was going to do with my life. My mum rang and she has taken on a huge Motel as the manager and she needed help; so I agreed off on another adventure to Sale a small country town in regional Victoria.

The first morning at the motel I was woken up by the police running up the hallway; we had been broken into. Now as you know Neil was the owner of the security company in town; we spent all day phoning his company to try and get them to burn the camera footage for the police. (Lets backtrack a little, previous to my mum taking over the motel; was 2 managers who were old and grumpy. Neil assumed it was them still here and didn’t want to come out; he kept trying to send his apprentices and they were too “busy” ) I finally got a hold of him; he walked through the door and there was an instant spark; well I preceded to give him flack the whole time here was here; 2 days later I get a phone call from him on the work phone.

Co, co, cof coffee

The voice on the other end of the phone said; “would you like to go out for co, co, cof coffee” amused I agreed, and we went out on a dinner date. We spent a lot of time getting to know one another; however, I still was not done with my Contiki life. I left Sale Victoria headed back to Europe for another season. Neil waited for me he knew I was a traveller and didn’t want to hold me back. It was at that moment I realised I had found my soul mate. The person who understood me and what was important to me; the fun part was going to be introducing him to the world of travel.

The beginning of our Travel Adventures

The beginning of our travel adventure’s together started in 2017; where we embarked on 5 different holidays seeing 17 different countries in one year. The very first being Peru in South America from then we haven’t stopped; it is a part of our lives and shaped who we are as people.

It really doesn’t matter what path you choose in life as long as you make yourself happy in the process.

We just want to say we are not historians nor do we claim to know everything; however we do have fun stories, tips and tricks about travelling and the world; we would like to share with you all. The world we live in is such an amazing place; with so much to learn and experience, and the best part about it is there is always something or someone new we meet along the way. We encourage you to get out there and see these things for yourself.
